This is a painting of the summer Isles which lie off the Coigach peninsula in Annat Bay. This was painted from a series of sketches done whilest motoring past the islands on the Calmac Ferry heading into Ullapool, (returning from a sail across the Minch to the Hebrides) The painting captures the islands and the mainland behind , including Ben Mor Coigach and the more northern Assynt hills.
This is a painting made for a solo exhibition at The Seafood Shack as part of An Talla Solais ART WEEK 7th - 14th September 2024 called "Anna Bay"
The exhibition will be up throughout Art week , until the end of October .
There are several paintings in the installation. This is the largest . The others depict fishing gear and equipment and are installed around the venue.
" Painting installation inspired by the waters around Ullapool where much of the catch for the Shack and the markets are caught. Charlottes work is closely connected to the sea and fishing boats of the area"
